As a U.S. company running JD Edwards (JDE) and owning Latin American (LATAM) subsidiaries, localization can be a double-edged sword. While you need to remain compliant with the laws of each country, the specifics vary so much that the process can be tedious, painful, and a bit intimidating.
For an JDE localization in LATAM, there are three primary areas that are involved: chart of accounts, local tax register validation, and the daily exchange rate. This means that you need localized templates to map your JDE ERP system for every LATAM country you do business in that includes Accounting, Financial Reporting, Material Management, Sales and Distribution, and Invoicing. Your data not only needs to be accurate, but must be compliant and available for review by country/regional authorities.
