Defining a Business Case for Remodeling your JDE House

Thu, March 09, 2017 12:00 Noon – 1:00PM EST / 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM PST

It happens suddenly, over a cup of coffee or during a staff meeting, or perhaps as your ERP system begins to slow down. Your system doesn’t fit your needs, and you can no longer deny it.

But how do you go about convincing top management to invest in your JDE ERP system, upgrade it to take advantage of new features, dust off shelfware, and stop a culture of modification?

At the end of the webcast, there will be a 10-minute Q&A period.

MasterIntegra – Implementing Master Data Management

Are you continually asking yourself some of the following key questions regarding your JD Edwards Inventory Master?

• Can I trust my Planning messages?
• Are new items added to the database too complex an exercise?
• Are the frequent changes we make to Item data performed in a controlled manner?
• Are we frequently running out of critical components?
• Do we have problems reconciling manufacturing costs?
• Can we extract accurate data for Sales Reporting?
• Are there too many people that process a change to a part structure?
• Does it take too long to get a new Item added to the Item Master and Branch?
• Is there control over who can change what on the Item Master and Item Branch screens?

If yes, we can help. We invite you to attend our Webcast by Craig Hill, on of the architects of our unique MasterIntegra product. The presentation covers how MasterIntegra can address these questions. Join C&A Technology for a 50-minute presentation webcast, Thursday, December 8th, 2016 at 12:00PM Eastern to discuss how we can improve the integrity of JD Edwards Item Masters.

There will be a 10-minute Q&A period at the end of the webcast.

A Practical Approach to Providing Capable to Promise at Sales Order Entry Time

Everyone knows JDE provides available to promise information. However, if you are make to order, or you don’t have product in stock at the moment, how do you tell a prospect or customer what and when you are capable of promising product, without just quoting standard lead times. Standard lead times are usually longer than what you can really do.

C&A Technology provides a cost effective approach to proving prospects and customers with capable to promise information at sales order entry time.

We can give you a way to look at cumulative manufacturing and purchase lead times, capacities, and quantities on hand of component parts to give customer service people more accurate dates to promise product to customers. This helps turn prospects into customers and keep existing customers. And we improved the ability to ship on time.

Join C&A Technology for a 50-minute presentation webcast, Thursday, December 15th, 2016 at 12:00PM Eastern to discuss how we can:

• Improve Customer Satisfaction
• Improve On Time Delivery
• Increase Sales

There will be a 10-minute Q&A period at the end of the webcast.

I can’t wait to help you,

One View Financial Statements

For customer who have OneView for the EnterpriseOne Financial module, you now have the ability to create book quality financial statements or use the pre-built financial statements provided. The functionality provided includes specific formatting, calculations and totals to support the needs of financial reporting. This is a nice feature for end-users to create their own financial statement reports, including balance sheets, and income statements.

Revenue Recognition

Oracle is delivering software updates for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne addressing new joint standards for recognition of revenue issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

The effective date for public entities is expected to start with reporting periods beginning on or after December 15, 2017. The effective date for nonpublic entities will be deferred for one year to annual reporting periods beginning after December 15, 2018 and interims beginning after December 15, 2019. Early adoption is permitted one year earlier than these dates.

The new reporting requirements are extensive and require changes to financial systems and processes to collect the necessary data—even if the application of the new accounting standard results in no significant change in the reported revenue amounts.

New Tools to enable your business to focus on what it does best, (your business) not IT

  • User Defined Objects – (UDO)
    • E1 Page Composer (9.2 Apps / 9.2 Tools)
  • Security – no more 10 character restriction on user ID and passwords
  • Simplified Upgrade Process

User Defined Objects

User Defined Objects (UDO) are web objects created using the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne web interface. You can create UDOs for your own use, view UDOs others have created, or share your UDOs so others can view and use them. Your ability to perform any of these tasks depends on the permissions you and others have been granted by your administrator.

Queries – fields and QBE columns you select from a form and add conditions to in order to make the search criteria more specific.

Grid Formats – a selection of the columns you choose to display, the sequence in which you want them displayed, and how information is displayed in your grid.

Composite Application Framework (Cafe1) – a user interface framework that enables JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications to integrate with multiple third-party content and applications, as well as other EnterpriseOne applications.

One View Reports – a Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher data model, a BI Publisher report, the report definition for the One View Report, which is the metadata for the report and resides in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.

One View Watchlists – a collection of items that match user-defined criteria and contain information to which users have selected to be alerted.

EnterpriseOne Pages (Classic Pages) – the first screen end-users see when they log into EnterpriseOne. They are HTML files and can contain any HTML-enabled functionality, such as interactive process flows, URL links and web pages, company logos, and so on. Active Pages are a type of Classic Page that includes enhanced content provided by the Oracle JET (JavaScript Extension Toolkit) library.

Composed Pages (Tools  EnterpriseOne pages with user defined layouts that you can create and design. These pages provide a user experience that enables you to access multiple pieces of content from a single page: web pages, EnterpriseOne application forms, One View reports, Classic Pages, Designer Panes, Watchlist Panes (Tools, OBIEE objects, and ADF applications. Composed Pages at runtime are supported on mobile devices.

Images (Tools – create images outside of EnterpriseOne using any image editor, then upload them to EnterpriseOne. Use Image Manager to create, modify, and save images.

Administrators can enable or disable the user defined object (UDO) features, as well as set up security for viewing, creating, and modifying individual UDOs.

UDO security features in the Security Workbench to enable administrators to control:

  • Which UDO features are available in EnterpriseOne
  • Who can create UDOs for their own personal use
  • Who can request to publish (or share) UDOs with other users
  • Who can view/use shared UDOs created by other users
  • Who can modify shared UDOs created by other users

Secure FTP (SFTP) for Media Objects – Secure FTP (SFTP) for media object access on the HTML Server and Business Services Server is configurable using Server Manager.

Enhanced Database Security – For an installation, all tables delivered by the Platform Pack installer are locked down.

Simplified Upgrade Process

This upgrade process allows customers on EnterpriseOne 9.1 or 9.0 (update 2) to upgrade to EnterpriseOne 9.2 by applying only the incremental changed objects. This upgrade “uplift” methodology reduces the amount of code/objects that are changed during the upgrade, therefore reducing the time needed to retrofit and test when upgrading.

If you are considering upgrading to EnterpriseOne 9.2 here are some things you may want to know, and new features you may find interesting.
